The National Nordic Walking Open has been held in Yixing for 3 years. This year the event was upgraded to “International Nordic Walking Open•Yixing China”. The opening ceremony of INWA World Nordic Walking Day China was held in Yixing at the same time. The competition was in line with international standards. Nordic Walking from the motherland Finland blossoms in the Pottery Capital of China.
Yixing was the main venue for the 2017 WNWD celebration China this year. 1000 NW fans from all over the world (20 countries) gathered in Yixing for celebrating the NW festival. Meanwhile, Macau,Guizhou etc in China also have some celebration for this festival at the same time.
The best result for men under the age 30 is 1 hour 20 mins 20 secs for 10KM, this winner is from Turkey. The best result for women under the age 30 is 42 mins 10 secs for 5 KM, this winner is from China. It’s also worth mentioning that the fastest Nordicwalker is Guminghai from the aged group (over 50 years old), who finish the 5KM with 36 min, and his speed is 8.34 KM per hour.
INWA President Aki Karihtala visited also the Yixing event. “Event was very well organized, weather was perfect and the area where the event was held was really nice. I would personally like to thank the organizers of the event very much”, Aki commented.
For the World Nordic Walking Day in China, totally more than 10 Provinces and about 2000 NW lovers joined the celebration.
