For the 6th time INWA China organizes the INWA World Cup Water Tower event, this time in Yushu in the province of Qinghai.
Qinghai Province is a sparking jewel set on the northwest plateau of China
Here theYangtze River, the Yellow River as well as the Mekong River take their source. So Qinghai is also called the ” Water Tower of China”.
With an elevation of around 3,700 metres (12,100 ft), Yushu has an alpine subarctic climate (Köppen Dwc), with long, cold, very dry winters, and short, rainy, and mild summers.
In this beautiful area the INWA World Cup will be organised.
For the international participants it is important to know that the World Cup will be held on an altitude of 4000 meters. As you all know this needs special physical preparation is necessary for the participants.
The World Cup distance will be 10 km both for man and woman. In this World Cup there will be two groups, e.g. for competition and non-competition.
The registration is open till May 15th and has to be sent directly to the Organizing Committee: China Water Tower International Nordic Walking World Cup Committee
The participating fee will be 20 Euros.
The competition rules are used according to the INWA World Cup rules.
The event will be hosted by INWA China, Qinghai Sports Bureau, Local People’s Government and Qinghai Mountaineering Association. This is the sixth time of such event, with the first event being held in 2014.
20 International participants can join this event free of charge, including hotel accommodation, meals, one day of participation at the Nordic Walking event. All this is available to the first 20 participants who register (each country max 2) . All other participants will also be offered an special price deal. Great Lamasery ofKumbum (Taer Lamasery), still one of theliving and the most important for believers, was builtin 1560. With Tsongkhapa,who found the Yellow sect of lamas and was born in here, allsolemn religiouscelebrations observed here to his honor. The excellent collection in Kumbumarean eyeful of classic Chinese-Tibetan architecture which has been preserved inbestcondition for centuries and its three typical Tibetan Supreme Artsdeveloped by Kumbum’slama artists, that is evident in Yak Butter Sculpture,Frescoes and Embossed Embroidery.
