The Korean INWA Nordic Working Association (Chairman Park Yo-Han) announced that it successfully held the ‘1st Korean International Nordic Working Competition’ on the 11th of November.
More than 150 athletes from three countries, including Korea, China and Japan, participated in the competition, which was held on 11km and 21km courses as a men’s and women’s competition in the general and university departments.
In particular, this is Korea’s official first international competition in which athletes from all over the world compete for skills, not a club-oriented Nordic walking event. Nordic walking competitions are unfamiliar in Korea, but they are already active enough to hold World Cup competitions in Europe, China, and Japan.
Ju Yeon-Seo, secretary-general of the Korean International Nordic Working Association, who hosted the competition, said, “We will focus on enhancing the athletes’ skills through the competition and attracting international competitions based on our recent experience as referee.”
The final best results:
21km
Men’s first place, 2:48:17
1st place for women, 2:56:37
11km
Men’s 1st place, 1:38:37
1st place for women, 1:35:42
