OUR EDUCATION PROGRAMME
The International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA) created the 10 Step Method™ as a proven and effective way to teach Nordic Walking. Developed through years of research and experience, this method helps people master Nordic Walking quickly and safely.
our courses
A key focus of INWA's work is designing and delivering high-quality educational programs. Our flagship offering is the INWA Nordic Walking Instructor Course, built around the proven INWA 10 Step Method™. All of our courses are supported by our on-line learning portal The INWA Academy, that provides detailed theory to support our face to face courses. We continue to expand and develop new programs, including continuing professional development courses, to support the growth of Nordic Walking worldwide.

National Trainer
Our National Trainers (NT) work at a country level, training Instructors and Leaders for INWA Member Countries. As a teacher trainer, NT's play a key role in building a network of Instructors in their region.

Nordic Walking Instructor
Nordic Walking Instructors (NWI) are at the heart of INWA. Their role is to teach people how to Nordic Walk. NWI run groups for fitness, health, tourism or as a social activity. There are INWA NWI across the globe in over 40 countries.

activity guide
Activity Guides are experienced Nordic Walkers who support Instructors at the local level. They are trained to safely lead group walks but do not provide technique instruction.
INWA National Nordic Walking Associations and Affiliate Members are licensed to deliver our educational programs within their respective countries. INWA actively promotes Nordic Walking in new regions and welcomes inquiries from countries looking to develop the sport.
