2. INWA NATIONAL TRAINER
2.1. Description:
a. An INWA NATIONAL TRAINER (NT) is a health and fitness professional that can provide education for INWA INSTRUCTORS and NW ACTIVITY LEADERS in INWA member countries (NNWA) and is responsible for the high quality education. b. An INWA NT is certified to organise Nordic Walking Instructor Courses in his/her member country (NNWA). c. An INWA NT must be affiliated to a NNWA. d. An INWA NT is not allowed to give Nordic Walking Instructor’s courses outside his/hers country without permission of the INWA and agreement with NNWA. In order for this to happen the NT has to fulfil the NNWA requirements to become a NT. e. In the case of an INWA NT moving to another country: 1. Country with an INWA NNWA – permission needed from INWA and the new NNWA to become a member of this NNWA and work as a NT in this country. 2. Country with no INWA NNWA – permission needed from INWA in order to work as a NT in this country (with the goal of setting a new NNWA in this country, after which the next point applies). f. An INWA NT has to sign a contract with the NNWA in which he/she commits him/herself to the education program of INWA Instructor’s course within the NNWA. g. The number of INWA NT educated per country depends on the decision of NNWA in co-operation with INWA.
2.2. Qualifications and requisites: ESSENTIAL: a. INWA Instructor with broad experience b. Qualifications in the fields of: sport science / or physical education / or healthcare c. To have a proven desire to develop INWA within their country NNWA: may set own additional prerequisitesDESIRABLE d. Possess a current First Aid qualification & official national training qualifications 2.3. How to become a National Trainer: STEP 1: NNWA a. Candidate has to send an application letter with CV and a video showing his/her teaching skills and Nordic Walking technique + interview at the NNWA b. NNWA presents the candidate to INWA
STEP 2: INWA NT Course (Taught by an INWA IT) c. Planned INWA NT Course d. Petition from a NNWA to hold an INWA NT Course in their country 2.4. License refreshing: Continuing Professional Development (CPD) a. INWA NT licences are refreshed every 2 years. b. CPD = Technical assessment by the Education Comte. (if requested) + INWA Convention. Alternatively, when Convention is held in a different Continent to that of residence of the NT, CPD = Technical assessment by the EC (video, if requested) + Local INWA Event* c. Proof of both requisites is necessary in order to issue the INWA CPD Certificate
*An INWA Local Event is that organised by a NNWA, with a minimum duration of 6 hours, open to AL/I/NTs of all other NNWAs. INWA Local Events will be added to INWA’s agenda.
