INWA Nordic Walking Cup 2018 in Carnikava 14.07.2018
On 14th of July around two hundred Nordic walking enthusiast gathered in Carnikava to compete in 5 km, 10 km and 21 km distances. The majority of the participants was from Latvia, however participants from France, Japan, Russia, Estonia, Finland were also competing actively.
For instance, the participant from Russia was first among women in 5 km distance, and participant from Japan was second in the 21 km distance in one of the age groups among men.
INWA Nordic Walking Cup this time was part of the Fishermen celebration and award ceremony took place on the stage near the picturesque river Gauja. After the World Cup the participants had an opportunity to enjoy the fair and later in the evening – an open-air concert.
The event was organized by Latvian Sport for All Association in collaboration with Carnikava county council. Supporters of the event: Latvian Sports Federation Council, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia, Joma, Orthomol, Dr. Maurins Vein Clinic.
All participants were happy to receive special souvenir package and to enjoy hot soup after the race.
