This new INWA course is developed by INWA Instructor Katie Atkins from Bristol (UK) with assistance of International Trainer Natalia Palacios Samper (INWA Spain). The first course will be given on September 10th in Lahti (Finland) in front of the INWA Convention, with an online theory course before. The course is only available for certified INWA Instructors.

Join Katie Atkins for an enriching journey into the world of Nordic Walking instruction

education and Nordic walking, Katie is poised to guide you through a transformative
experience that will equip you with the tools to eCectively engage with this vibrant
demographic.
As INWA Lead for Children’s Education and a seasoned Nordic walking instructor with British
Nordic Walking, Katie brings over 26 years of teaching expertise, including 12 years as a PE
specialist. Her accolades include a Level 4 Diploma in Coaching Pedagogy in Physical
Education Environments. Since 2009, Katie has been an active Nordic Walker, and in 2016, she
assumed the role of instructor for British Nordic Walking. Notably, in 2017, she founded Nordic
4 in Bristol, where she hosts popular Nordic4 School Courses and a weekend communitybased
group, Nordic4 Teens.
Drawing from her wealth of experience, Katie champions that children are distinct entities requiring tailored approaches to education and physical activity. The forthcoming INWA Course, set to launch in
September, presents an invaluable opportunity for instructors to delve into a novel Nordic walking curriculum designed specifically for younger age groups.
Throughout the course, Katie will impart theoretical insights and practical strategies to eCectively engage children and teenagers in Nordic walking. Participants will receive a comprehensive resource pack (Manual) to support their instructional journey, with Katie serving as a steadfast mentor as they embark
on this exciting course.
