Nordic Walking for Children and Teens Online Talk

kellybennettwork

Katie Atkins, INWA Lead for Children and Teens Education, is thrilled to have received an invitation from Leroy at Afoot Nordic Walking in the USA to present at an exciting online talk. Scheduled for Tuesday, 1st April at 4 PM UK Time, this session promises valuable insights into the role of Nordic Walking in supporting children's physical literacy and their social and emotional growth.

Katie's extensive experience in both education and Nordic Walking uniquely positions her to advocate for age-appropriate teaching methods. Her core belief is clear: children and teenagers are not simply smaller adults. Therefore, their learning experiences, especially regarding physical activities like Nordic Walking, need to be thoughtfully tailored to their developmental stages and specific emotional needs.

Nordic Walking offers an excellent framework to foster physical literacy, helping children develop essential motor skills, confidence, and a lifelong enthusiasm for staying active. Additionally, it plays a crucial role in supporting young people's emotional and social skills, enabling them to better navigate relationships, self-regulation, and emotional resilience.

This online session will be an ideal opportunity for educators, Nordic Walking instructors and anyone working in youth fitness and wellbeing to discover how Nordic Walking can benefit Children and Teens.
